Your hand has different types of skin tissue, from the thick skin of the palm to the thinner and looser skin on the back of the hand, from the presence of nails to your sensitive finger pulp tissue.

From superficial to deep, your hands are unique and different conditions can affect different parts of the skin of your hand.

Lumps may originate from superficial to deep tissue, and most lumps warrant investigation. Speak to your GP about arranging a few basic tests and a referral to see a hand surgeon.
